Walk in the Paulo

So, after breakfast, I decided to go for a walk around the neighbourhood. I had about an hour to kill before Felippo would arrive for lunch.

Felippo told me that the neighbourhood where the hotel is, is actually one of the best neighbourhoods in Sao Paulo. There are many, many high rise buildings around, and they all look first rate.

The first thing I notice is that, like South-Africa, all the building have serious security to protect them.

I asked Felippo about it, and he confirmed that, unlike what the Americans tell the world, the whole of South-America is not a war zone, and the security is only there because of “normal” crime. Strange how us South-Africans use words like “normal crime”, but that’s another story.

My hotel is here:

Basically I walked all the way up the road, and all the way to the bottom again. It seemed to me that as soon as you get to the end of the road (no jokes, please), the surrounding quickly change to very industrial area, and I am not brave enough to check it out yet.
